Egg Nog History

All in all, it appears that sack-posset was Egg Nog’s father and syllabub a near cousin. The sack-posset was a hot Egg Nog. Perhaps it was an early American preference for chilling drinks that led the colonists to depart from the hot or room temperature drinks of their English forbearers.
